The viverrids are a family of Old World carnivores. They are related to cats, hyenas, and mongooses, but are the most primitive of this group. Viverrids in the African savanna include civets and genets. We were lucky to spot this beautiful African civet on our latest ungulate survey in Tarangire National Park.
