Herman was born and raised in Babati, Manyara. He received a joint Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Maastricht School of Management, The Netherlands and Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (MSM & ESAMI)-Arusha. He also graduated from Tengeru Institute of Community Development where he specialized in Management of Community Development Programs. Herman has over 20 years of work experience with local and international Community Development Projects in Tanzania. His areas of interest include Community entry strategies in project initiations, Community needs assessment, Social research, Project design and implementation, Networking and collaboration with local leaders and stakeholders, Lobbying and advocacy, Project monitoring and evaluations, Human resources management, Human-wildlife conflict management, Community livelihoods and rangelands restoration, and Conservation education. Herman also consulted on world bank projects in Tanzanian southern highland regions as Social and Environmental Safeguard specialist where he guided farmers, pastoralists, and conservationists on social inclusivity and environmental sustainability on the land use plans and sustainable conservation. Herman works with Wild Nature Institute's Celebrating Africa's Giants environmental education program as an administrator and coordinator between TanEdu, Wild Nature Institute, and collaborating organizations.
